  • Cod are pelagic and are found in seas with cold waters and Arctic seas. The Cod is almost omnivorous. They mainly eat; Mussels, Slugs, Squids, Crabs and Shrimps. Fully grown Cod becomes predator and eat fish such as; Capelin and Sandeel.
    Cod are caught by trawl and Line.

  • Saith are pelagic and are found in most parts of the North atlantic in approximately 0-200 meters of cold water. Their food consists of; Waterfleas, Fisheggs and Fishlarva. Groing bigger the Saith becomes a predator. Already as 9 cm it eats smaller members of the family, and later the Saith eats; Capelin Herring and Sandeel.

  • Redfish are pelagic and are found in most parts of the North Atlantic in approximately 100-500 meters of water with temperatures of 3-6 C. The larger "Marinus" live in 150-300 meters and the smaller "Mentella" go down to 300-500 meters.
    Redfish mainly eat plankton such as; Deepsea Shrimps and fry. Fully grown Redfish also eats fish such as; Capelin, Herring and small Cod.

  • Black Halibut live in the waters of the North Atlantic on soft clay ground in 200-1000 meters of water with temperatures of approximately -1,5 / -4,5 C. Unlike other flatfish, Black Halibut is not completely restricted to the seabed and often swims at high levels swimming upright.
    Black Halibut are predators, eating; Deepsea shrimps, small redfish and squid.
    Black Halibut are caught by longline, but are also as bicatch in shrimptrawls.
